Colombia beats ICSID claim with “essential security” defence

UPDATED WITH AWARD: An ICSID tribunal has thrown out a US$256 million claim against Colombia over the seizure of land allegedly linked to organised crime, finding it fell within a treaty exception for measures aimed at protecting the state’s essential security interests.
